A beach of about 6-7 km, largely undeveloped and backed by coconut palms, roughly 6 km west of town. It is the most remote and quietest part of Las Terrenas: large plots, gated communities and few shops, so you will need a car.

A beach about 1 km long, roughly 3 km west of town, with small hotels in the tree line and a surf break at its west end. A quiet, uncrowded area, 5-15 minutes' drive from the centre.

A long beach just west of the centre, good for families, with reefs for snorkelling. An established residential area of villas and apartments, close to shops and services but calmer than Punta Popy and the centre.
A pedestrian-only area facing Las Ballenas beach, with restaurants, bars and outdoor seating along a walkway. It is the hub of Las Terrenas nightlife: very walkable, but the noisiest part of town at night.
The centre of Las Terrenas is organised around Calle Duarte, where banks, pharmacies, a supermarket and a clinic cluster. Claro lists "Las Terrenas Centro" among its fibre-covered sectors, and the town beaches are close by.
A beach about 1 km long at the eastern end of the town beach, a few steps from the tourist centre, known for kitesurfing and for concerts and events on its wide sandy area. A lively area where condo apartments dominate.
A quiet, low-density residential area about 10 minutes' drive east of the centre along the El Limón road. Its palm-lined beach, more than 5 km long, is one of the least crowded in Las Terrenas.
The hills behind town along the Las Terrenas-El Limón road, which climbs a steep range with many bends. Unverified sources report hillside villas with sea views and say a car is effectively essential. Towards El Limón, some homes may get their electricity from Edenorte rather than Luz y Fuerza.
